The T shirt series from DIS/OWNED questions social attitudes towards fashion and waste, conscious versus unconscious consumption, and the idea of ownership and responsibility in fashion. It contrasts the disgust or rejection associated with throwing away a garment, with the act of repurposing and repossession that accompanies reclaiming a garment. The t-shirts have been remodelled to question how the body navigates through a garment and how consumers create and modify the product through active decision making and engagement with the each piece. The process explores the changes in the t-shirts as they move from material to product and become increasingly deformed.
